About the Luther Pecan Festival

Bison Blinds

It began in 2017! The Luther Pecan Festival was dreamed up one day by a bunch of shop owners, neighbors and Luther cheerleaders who wanted to put our town on the map. We thought an art show would be fun right out in the middle of Main Street. We’d get some live music, ask some food trucks to come. Our hook, naturally, was the pecan harvest at Couch Pecans that brings an annual migration of visitors to the beautiful orchard on Route 66 and Luther Road. The first three years of the festival were held the first Saturday after the orchard opens on November 15. In 2021, the dates and the location moved to Dec 3 – 4, at the Couch Pecan Orchard!

THE 2022 Luther Pecan Festival will return to November and return to the Couch Pecan Orchard!

In 2017, we had our first LUTHER PECAN FESTIVAL. It was cold, the wind was biting, and we didn’t have enough pecans to meet the demand of ALL of those who came to our inaugural event. We so underestimated the appetite for pecans. Still we had about 5,000 guests come to the festival. And we had a lot of fun. Our streets were full of life and crowds. Luther looked good!

In 2018, our second Luther Pecan Festival brought more visitors to our town. An estimated 10,000 visitors came. We were happy to meet the supply of pecans with four Oklahoma growers helping to augment the supply up at Couch’s Orchard. But we ran out of PECAN PIE! So we take that as a life lesson and will plan to have MORE PECAN PIE on November 16, 2019.

Our thanks to our sponsors who made the 2019 Festival happen!
