Chisholm's team facing eligibility hearing

Bison Blinds

There was already a lot on the line for this season closer for the Luther Lions football team. The matchup is with Oklahoma Christian School. Before today, the Lions and Saints thought they would be battling for second place in their district and a two seed in the playoffs. That was until news broke that the district champions, the Chisholm Longhorns will have an eligibility hearing Friday with the Oklahoma Secondary School Athletic Association.

The action puts the district championship and the entire Class 2A playoff bracket in question.

Meantime, Luther and OCS will proceed to Wilson Field for the 7 pm matchup. Luther Head Coach Shawn Meek visited with Mitchell Talks’ Scott Mitchell for the weekly Lions football podcast. It was recorded before this news broke with Chisholm and OSSAA. Give it a listen to gain some insight on Luther’s loss to Chisholm just last Friday night, and a look at Friday night lights, the last one of the regular 2019 football season.

Congratulations to the fall athletic seniors who will be recognized in a 6:30 pm ceremony.
