Are you practicing that recipe? Cooks and bakers all around, we invite you to take part in our third annual Pecan Cookoff at the Luther Pecan Festival. Organized by the fabulous Sheila Farmer, the cookoff is not only a highlight to our festival, but it is an important fundraiser for 4 Our Community, a nonprofit organization that serves our school and community.

The Cookoff will have four divisions, lots of prize and one grand champion. Will Pete Newsom repeat as Grand Champion with his pecan wood smoked chicken? Only time will tell, along with the tastes of our esteemed panel of judges.
The categories include:

- Pecan Pie (any pecan pie)
- Pecan Sweet (any sweet using pecans, other than pecan pie)
- Pecan Appetizer (any non-sweet appetizer made with pecans)
- Pecan Savory (Main dishes made with pecans/meats cooked with pecan wood)
Submit your entries and a $10 fee on the morning of the Pecan Festival, November 16, between 10 – 11 am, at Boydston Bailey Funeral Home, 105 S Main, Luther. Please bring enough to be auctioned!
Winners will be announced at 1 pm on the music stage on the day of the festival. And prize packages are being assembled!
