Congratulations to Luther’s Lady Lion Shawntae Silva. The freshman guard spent the weekend at the Oklahoma City stop of Stephen Curry’s Underrated Tour.
It’s hard to think of the Golden State Warriors superstar as anything but great, but when he graduated from high school in 2005, Curry had trouble getting the attention of college recruiters.
UNDERSIZED. UNDERAPPRECIATED. UNDERRATED. BUT ALSO UNDETERRED,” from Curry’s camp website.
Long story short, Curry defied the odds and proved himself in the NBA. Earlier this year, he announced the Underrated tour and both Silva and junior Tyler Becker hit the hardwoods for the two-day showcase.

With 66 players, and only four girls, Silva made the top half.
“Proud of this young lady. Competed well against the boys this weekend at Stephen Curry Under Rated. Represented Luther Lady Lions well and earned respect among the coaches. Great job Shawntae,” said her Lions Coach Johnny Vick.
Silva’s performance at the camp came less than a couple of weeks after her team’s first appearance at the State Tournament in almost 60 years.
Way to go, Shawntae!!!
