Luther Candidate Event on March 19

Registered voters in the Town of Luther and the Luther School District have an election day on April 2, 2019. There are four candidates vying for two open seats on the Luther Town Board and two candidates for one school board seat.

The candidates have been invited to a Candidate Event on Tuesday, March 19, at The Chicken Shack. The event will be similar to the event sponsored by The Luther Register and Mitchell Talks last fall for the Oklahoma County candidates.

The event will be at the Chicken Shack, 18725 SH 66, Luther, at 7 pm. Candidates will each have a few minutes to talk about their campaigns and take questions, and the majority of the evening will be for meeting voters.

Of the four candidates for the Town Board, two have served before, Andy McDaniels and Carolyn Lawson. The new candidates are Brian Hall and Jeff Schwarzmeier. The four candidates are running to fill two open seats left by Lea Ann Jackson and Jason Roach who are not seeking re-election.

On the school board, the candidates filed back in December for the April election between incumbent Sherri Anderson and newcomer Justin Wood. Anderson is seeking her second five-year term.

For election information, visit the State Election Board website. If you want to vote absentee, the information is here and the deadline is 5pm the Wednesday before the election.

The Luther Campaign Event is free (support for The Luther Register is always appreciated and needed), but the Shack will be open for dinner! If you would like to submit a question for the candidates, use the comment section below. Visit the event’s FB page here.
