UPDATE NOV 13
One of the biggest coups of the whole festival, aside from making sure we have enough pecans this year, is that we secured the Luther police chief’s band to play on stage at the Luther Pecan Festival on November 17.
“On A Whim” is scheduled to take the Pecan Fest Stage about Noon. It’s Chief David Randall’s Band. The Oklahoma City based band plays R&B, jazz, funk and pop. This band is part of a packed Pecan Fest line-up that will entertain with abundant talent and a wide range of musical styles.

Returning this year is the crowd favorite Red Grass String Band out of Norman. “Ricky Bobby” and the guys have originals to make you sway, tap your foot, dance and sometimes giggle at their clever lyrics. They playĀ Bluegrass and Red Dirt, country and rock.

Another return to the Pecan Fest stage is singer songwriter Kyle Reid. You remember him on stage wearing a coonskin hat and playing his guitar last year. He’s released a new CD since then with originals that will keep you company during a rainy evening, or inspire you to “Love & Trust.”

Jacob Fuqua and Michael Armstrong from Luther will play in their band, Parachute. They’ll kick off the day with their rock sound and super musicality. They can play anything.
New band Mad Honey will join us. With a Luther connection in Keegan Ball, this new band is owning their sound and offer several originals.

Luther musicians Ella Winton will sing and play a few tunes after Kyle Reid, before Myoosik Aqui takes the stage at their Luther debut.
You heard another band last year under a different name. Kinderhook became Brooding Band earlier in 2018. This synthcore band with some Luther connections, has super talented musicians. Brooding will round out the day to close out our second annual Luther Pecan Festival. This band is also providing stage and sound management throughout the day with Opus Entertainment. And one of the members, might have a woodworking booth in the artist area featuring hand-made knives and cutting boards. You’ll want to check out “Brian’s Wooden Goods.” You’ll find his booth near the stage.

Another music highlight of the festival will feature Matt Cowell. The musician who was on The Voice is headlining our pre-party at The Chicken Shack on Friday, November 16. Cowell performed at last year’s Pecan Fest and was a crowd fave. Catch him at 7:30 pm (or so) at the Shack after we light the Christmas Village and declare it Pecan Fest weekend. Artists, vendors and food truck purveyors, volunteers and others are invited to the pre-party and we want the public to come out too.
Special thanks to Josh Smith, aka DJ SHORTY B, with Opus Entertainment for hooking us up with the sound for fest day, and hosting our stage events including the Pecan Cookoff and various announcements.
And the live music at Luther Pecan Festival would not be possible without the generous sponsorship of Olsen Orthopedics! THANK YOU.
