Fatality Crash at Britton and Peebly

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office reports that 17-year-old Dylan James Butler died as a result of a wreck Thursday evening at Britton Road and Peebly.

Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Mark Opgrande says the wreck happened about 7:30 pm when a pickup driven by two males appeared to run the stop sign north on Peebly and crashed into a van traveling westbound on Britton driven by a male with a female and nine-year-old child passengers.

Butler died following a two vehicle crash at Britton Road and Peebly Rd. Butler was the passenger in a truck involved in the crash. According to investigators, around 6:50 p.m., the driver of the truck, failed to stop at a stop sign while headed north on Peebly Road at Britton Road. The truck collided with a van headed west on Britton Road. Inside the van was an adult male driver, female adult passenger and one juvenile female passenger. The driver of the van and passenger of the truck (Butler) were air lifted to the hospital. The other three victims went to the hospital by ambulance. At this time the conditions of the other four victims are unknown but not considered life threatening. They are being treated at local hospitals.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Charges, if any, will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office at the conclusion of the investigation,” said Opgrande.
