UPDATE: TUESDAY 8:24 am. Luther Police reports that one person is in custody but the search remains for TWO more suspects. The female suspect was found in a vehicle near a property where the stolen car was ditched.

A suspect driving a stolen car led Edmond Police on a chase Monday evening that ended at Sorghum Mill Road east of Triple X. The suspect bailed out of the stolen white Jeep and has not been found. Police helicopters and canine units searched for the suspect with no success. The search was called off around 12:30 am Tuesday.

Earlier Monday evening, Edmond police say they answered a call about a suspicious vehicle in a neighborhood near Sorghum Mill Road and Midwest Blvd. When police approached, the vehicle took off. A pursuit ensued eastbound on Sorghum Mill and ending past Triple X Road.

Helicopters circled the area as a police canine unit searched. Police went to nearby residences, checked barns and vehicles in the area. Darkness hampered the search in the rural unincorporated area outside of Luther Town limits.

The Jeep was reported stolen out of Midwest City during the day on Monday, and police said it appeared there was some stolen property in the vehicle. The vehicle was loaded onto a tow truck, as Edmond police units cleared the scene.

Authorities have no suspect description and advise nearby residents to lock doors and call 911 about any suspicious activity.
