ARCADIA – Members of the Sooner Model A Club will bring their vintage cars to the Arcadia Round Barn on Sunday, Aug. 12, during the monthly Round Barn Rendezvous.
The Rendezvous, a jam session featuring local musicians, is from Noon to 4 pm, beneath the giant shade tree on the north side of the barn. Some seating is available at the picnic tables, but bring your lawn chairs.
Last year, members of the Sooner Model A Club encircled the barn with their cars to celebrate their 50th anniversary and join the Arcadia Round Barn in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the barn restoration. This had not been done since the cars circled the barn in 1992 for the grand opening of the newly restored Round Barn, according to Jim Blue, a board member of the Arcadia Historical and Preservation Society and organizer of the car club event.
The Snow and Grow food and shaved ice truck from Arcadia Farmer’s Market will be on site during the Rendezvous.
The Round Barn museum and gift shop are open 10 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. Admission is free, but donations are accepted for the maintenance of the barn.
