Former Luther All State Football Standout Maurice Wright popped back to his home field this week. At Wilson Field, he put his little brother and cousin through some training paces before Wright heads back to Alva for his junior year as a Northwestern Oklahoma State University Ranger.

Before running brother Maurtice Wright who will be a fourth grader, and cousin Kody Fields who will be a seventh grader, Wright visited with coaches and his former players at morning workout. Track and Cross Country Coach Stan Higdon made sure Wright still had his number if he needs anything while they talked stats and game schedules for the fall.
Wright continues to build a strong career as a Ranger.
From NWOSU. He had another fantastic year that once again gained him incredible recognition. He totaled 104 tackles in just eight games, leading to 13.0 tackles/game, good enough to lead the conference and was second overall in the NCAA Division II. He also had 14 tackles for loss, dropping the opposing team for 64 yards. He also had one pass breakup, two QB hurries, one fumble recovery and two forced fumbles. His numbers led him to a First Team All-GAC selection and the Northwestern Athlete of the Year.
Good luck to Wright on the upcoming season. He’ll have some more Luther company as 2018 graduates Landon Krueger and Jordan Downs join him on the field, the workout room and in classes. #mytown
