OKLAHOMA CITY (July 30, 2018) – An investigation is underway following the discovery of a body during a house fire near Luther Monday morning. Around 9:30 am Hickory Hills Fire Department responded to a House fire in the 10700 block of Lori Lane in Oklahoma County. While putting out the fire, firefighters found the body of an unidentified adult in the home. Homicide investigators were called to the scene. During the course of the investigation, they developed information which led them to suspect this is a homicide case. They later learned the roommate of the deceased was headed toward Texas. Around 12:30 this afternoon, Cooke County Texas deputies performed a traffic stop on the roommate and took the roommate into custody near Gainesville. An OCSO investigator is currently headed to Texas to interview that individual.

The address on Lori Lane is between Luther Road and Dobbs, south of 108th and Hefner Road and just down the road from the Hickory Hills Fire Department. It is believed the home was rental property. The Luther Fire Department assisted on scene.

The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal remained on the scene late Monday afternoon, investigating the cause of the fire. The State Medical Examiner arrived about 4:30 pm. The victim has not been identified until his or her family is notified, nor has the cause of death been released.
