Sporting new alternate jerseys, the Luther Lions football team came downtown today to bring lunch to the employees of Town Hall and the Police Department. Coach Zack Smith said they picked up the “best pizza in town,” from S&H Mercantile in town to treat Luther’s public employees.
“I felt like I needed to show our town I appreciated them and I wanted my kids to get involved in serving our community workers. Everyone in Luther (including our school and football program) calls on the police and city employees at some time or another and we think they should be valued and appreciated,” said Coach Smith.
Free lunch Wednesday was a great surprise at Town Hall. “It was very good and we appreciated them thinking of us,” said Scherrie Pidcock, Town Manager.
The Lions are just a month away from their first scrimmage of the new season. Without further ado, here’s the 2018 football schedule.
