He’s our favorite entertainer, DJ Shorty B, but he’s also our neighbor. Josh Smith and his family could use our help. The Smith’s suffered a crushing loss on Monday when their home in Lincoln County caught fire. There is extensive loss of property and smoke damage. Of course, they are thankful to have their lives and health and insurance. But those who have gone through this situation know it takes a toll as they now suddenly must focus on finding the way back to a normal life for their two young girls, as they knew it, “before the fire.”
To get them through the gap of missing work, getting damage assessments, insurance claims and replacing basic items, we can give directly to the family through PayPal.
Countless times, Josh and Stephanie, a Luther mail carrier, have donated their time and services to help others. From fundraisers to community events, you ask, and they are there. Many times they perform their professional (and epic) talents for no compensation because he loves his town. We featured Josh in an article in 2017 where he shared his advice: “dream big and never give up.”
We’ve seen him playing host at the Town Halloween events, firefighter fundraisers, Freewheel, school dances and more. He fits in these hometown events in between gigs that keep him extremely busy. He’s that good. He’s also helped at several events to help sick children including an event this weekend in Wellston at The Butcher Stand, and other events. The family also sponsored holiday meals last year. Click here to see all of the articles that have included something he has promoted or participated in.
Stephanie’s sister, Melissa Gordon, said the Smiths are currently staying at a friend’s home in Moore and assessing the damage. “They are having to miss a few days work because of this and we all know bills do not pay themselves,” said Melissa.
If you can donate some dollars to the Smith family, PayPal is a secure way to do it. The money will be accessible immediately with only a small fee. Click here for the PayPal address is Djshortyb.opus@gmail.com.
