There’s a first for everything. The Arcadia Round Barn will host its first ever Ukulele Festival on Sunday. The free concert goes from Noon – 5 pm, June 10, and is part of the Round Barn Rendevous Series held every second Sunday of the month in the barn loft.
Round Barn volunteer and music aficiondo Joe Baxter has put the event together. He called on ensembles and soloists from near and far to fill the stage and the rafters with the music of the uke strings. Featured will be Frank & Scott, Cant Stop Singing, Well Now Margery, The La Ti Das, Functional Polly, Tulsa Ukuleles, The Ukelelians, the OKC Ukeleles Ensemble and the Big Ol’ Uke Band.
The event is free, and you can buy food from the original El Reno Fried Onion Burger truck. And if you bring your own ukulele, there will be an open jam area outside by the picnic area.
