This just in, straight from the convention floor in Oklahoma City at the State FFA Convention … we hear that Luther High School Senior and Luther FFA President Makala Parsons has been elected Central Area Vice President of the State FFA.
It’s the first time a Luther High Student has been elected to statewide FFA office since 1953 when Charles Wilson served.
The election was tonight. Parsons was on the ballot with two other candidates. Her sponsor, Holly Drake, told us earlier in the day that Parsons “rocked her speech.”
Reports are it was very exciting when election results were revealed with Parsons family, advisors, fellow Luther FFA members and fans there to join in the celebration.
Parsons graduates from LHS on May 10, and then it will be a whirlwind of training to fulfill her state officer duties. She will attend Oklahoma State University in the fall.
Congratulations!

Way to Go, Makala!! This is so awesome.
