Tornado, Fire, Flood. Unfortunately, in the last dozen years or so, Luther has experienced all of them, as we well remember.

The Town Board of Trustees met this week to talk about emergency plans. The fire chief, police chief and school superintendent attended. But the bulk of the meeting was spent, not on emergency plans, but on getting someone to serve as the Town’s Emergency Services Director.

Kim Bourns who serves as the current Town Clerk and Treasurer and has also served in the Emergency Director role in the past and is willing to serve again. The board said in the interest of transparency and thoroughness, they would reach out to the community to see if others might be interested in the job that comes with no compensation.
