A valiant fight, Season ender for Lions

Bison Blinds

District Champs. Regional Champs. The State Semi-Finals. It was an excellent run by the Luther Lions. But they fell to the Wright City Lumberjax Friday night by seven points. The gym was packed with fans on one side from Wright City who made the four-hour trip from the south-east corner of the state, and from Luther who crossed the county following a community send-off by the Luther Police and Fire Departments.

Final score – Luther 41 to Wright City 48.

The Jax led the whole game, but Luther defended well. The Lions came within three points but never took the lead.

Congratulations to Coach Matt Jones and the team on the season, and the thrilling tournament run. The Lions showed grit, talent and character. Your community is proud of you. It’s a great day to be a Lion.
