A seven-hour standoff between a burglary suspect and Oklahoma County Deputies ended peacefully early Monday morning at a home on  NorthLuther Road toward Harrah.

Stephen McGraw, 35, allegedly locked himself into a home in the 8000 block of North Luther Road after 6pm on Sunday. No one was at home when the security system was triggered, alerting authorities. OCSO’s Tactical Team set up a perimeter around the house and the suspect would not respond to authorities’ efforts to negotiate.

“After several hours of negotiating, the team deployed tear gas into the home. Just before 1 a.m. team members entered the home, located the subject, and took him into custody,” according to an OCSO news release.

McGraw was transported to the hospital for evaluation and faces several charges including burglary, destruction of property and resisting arrest. He also has outstanding Oklahoma County Warrants for Violation of a Suspended Sentence, Possession of a Controlled and Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
