It’s our first week of June and things are happening in Luther. Most importantly, does everyone know the SNOW CONE stand is OPEN? Heather Johnson is operating it this summer and is ready to serve you. Tiger’s Blood. Wedding Cake. Margarita. She has all the classic flavors and some new ones (and good ice!). Open 3 – 9 pm. Drive-up or walk up at 204 Ash (In the parking lot of DJ’s BBQ).
On Saturday, the Open Door Assembly of God holds its Flea Market. You’ve seen the signs, and the doors open at 7am. And they’ll have FIDGET SPINNERS! Need we say more? With 25 booths featuring garage sale treasures, hand-crafted jewelry, furniture and purses, vendors will sell until 5pm. In the food category, you can get turkey legs, BBQ, hotdogs and popsicles. Proceeds will help the congregation build a sanctuary.
On Sunday, the Broken Horn Ranch will celebrate its first birthday. How did the year go by so fast? Join them for an open house.
On Tuesday, the Luther Town Board of Trustees meets at 6:30 to talk budget, and then to talk to the public.
On Friday, June 9, we’ll have another first year birthday! The 116 Farmstead, Market & Table will mark one year being open on Main Street in Luther. Live music, cupcakes and other festivities are planned until 8 pm.
There also will be the usual stops to make around town. The Chicken Shack will have some live music and corn hole in the back yard. Jarvis’ Liquor is stocked with beer and everything else in the adult beverage category. Urban 66 and Rustic Farm always have new treasures to to buy for your whimsy, needs and your gift list. And Jeremy, is Rock N Vapes open?
What else is going on? Drop it in the comments. It’s #lutherlocal.
I dont see mention of S&H Mercantile when discussing businesses. Their pizza saved dinner many nights before and since other restaurants opening. That pizza is pretty darn good actually!
THANKS Shirley! I had some Merc pizza just this week. It was delicious. And S&H is always there for us!
