Monday was a great day to be a Luther Lion. With freshmen suited up in pads and uniforms for the first time to join the rest of the high school football team, they all broke in the new tunnel that was purchased with donations to the the LL SPORTS CLUB LUTHER and the Touchdown Club.

Monday morning found the 2017 Luther High School football team hard at work during spring camp. In addition, parents, volunteers and members of the Luther Touchdown Club were hard at work to unload the pieces for the new helmut tunnel for the first run through. Parent and organizer of the LL Sports Club Doug Wilson said that the tunnel is for all football teams. Through a bank account at Luther’s First Bank and Trust, donations were received for the $5,800 purchase.

Once spring ball concludes at the Cushing Camp on Friday, the team will have Summer Pride workouts for players to keep in shape and to help prevent injuries later. Summer pride also offers inner-squad competitions and bonding in advance of Friday night lights beginning in August.

The tunnel helmut is huge, fantastic, and gets us ready for the 2017 football season. Welcome to #mytown, home of the Luther Lions and Lady Lions!
