Before the new Luther Town Board of Trustees meets for its first official meeting to conduct town business, members are having a budget workshop. The new elected officials are working against the clock to have the budget set before a June 30 deadline, and have asked for departments such as the fire department, police department, Town Hall and the Public Works Authority to submit budget information in advance of the meeting.
The Special Meeting on the budget is Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
The new board met for about three hours just last week in a wide-ranging meeting to discuss everything from agenda preparation to public safety.
Incidentally, the Board will meet for its first official meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Among other things, they will elect a mayor and vice-mayor from among themselves.
You can catch the Luther Register’s FB Live broadcast of the meeting here. Tuesday’s budget meeting also will broadcast on FB Live.
