Batter up. It’s time to play ball.
The Luther Lions have been on the diamond for a couple of weeks now, but the middle school and high school have their first combined home games on Monday, March 20 against Prague. The middle school is at 4:30 pm and the high school is at 6:30 pm.
The baseball program has put out a request for volunteer help running the gate and concession stand. The LMS cheerleaders have stepped up to sell the snacks.

The cheer squad has been fundraising for uniforms and summer camp and recently raised more than $500 hosting a Valentine’s dance. Helping out the baseball teams seemed like a job they could do to support their fellow Lions, and maybe earn some tip money for their program needs. Don’t you love the ingenuity? One silver lining about hard financial times like the school district is having, the fund-raising gets creative.
The middle school cheer squad will have a tip jar at the concession stand if generous fans want to throw in some change for the cause. The girls hope that volunteer work will make them more visible to the community and get them closer to their goal.
Come cheer for your Luther high school and middle school baseball teams.
