The Luther School Board and the Luther Town Board have some business to get done this week. Both entities have called Special Meetings for Thursday night.
The Luther School Board will meet at 7pm. The agenda is here.
Agenda items:
Discuss and take action on hiring a superintendent for the 2017-2018 school year.
Discuss and take action on resignation of School Board Member, Charles DeFuria.
DeFuria resigned at Monday’s meeting. The school board will also consider hiring certified staff for next school year.
The Town Board, meanwhile, meets at 7:30 pm. They are meeting in an effort to hire a new court clerk and office manager. Previously, the position was combined and Crystal Wilson served the town aptly. She left employment with the Town last week.

Some board members have questioned whether to hire a new employee so close to a town election since the board works so closely with the town staff. As an alternative, the board member suggests they might wait until after the election on April 4. However, currently all of the office duties and meeting preparation is falling on current staff who have lots on their plates.
