Tuesday night marks the last Town Board meeting before the filing period for candidates interested in serving on the Luther Town Board of Trustees. The public meeting is at 7:00 pm at 18120 E Hogback Road at the Luther Community Building. If you cannot attend, the meeting will be broadcast live on The Luther Register’s Facebook page.
The board agenda for the January 10 meeting is here.
Filing for four Trustee seats and Clerk/Treasurer will be held February 6 – 8, 2017, at the Oklahoma County Election Board.
The election is April 4.

The current board is comprised of Cecilia Taft, Ron Henry, Carolyn Lawson, Birlene Langley and Andy McDaniels, who was appointed to serve after the resignation of Jackson last year.
The position of Clerk/Treasurer has been embattled. Former Clerk/Treasurer Donita Roby was arrested in 2014 and charged with embezzling $48,000 from the Town. She is currently repaying the Town at $200 per moth as part of a suspended sentence. Just in the year since The Luther Register began posting, two more appointed Clerk/Treasurers have resigned.
Current Clerk/Treasurer Kim Bourns was appointed in October.
The Town Board is expected to take action at its January 10, 2017, meeting to call for the election.
