Chili Cook-off Nov. 16

Support Community News.

chiliThere’s nothing like bringing a community together like a good-natured battle over who has the best pot of chili! The Luther Schools Parent Teacher group invites our town’s best chili makers to duke it out over spice concoctions and bean-to-meat ratios on Wednesday, November 16, at the Luther Elementary School Cafeteria from 6 –  8 pm.

And if you have a winning roster of crockpots full of chili, you need people to come eat it.

WIN WIN!

PTC Member Eva Leyba says the chili night is a new event for the group.
“This fundraiser was just as much a way for us to get the community together as much as to fund-raise,” she said.

Chili makers may sign up at the Elementary School office. Entry fee is $10.
Grand prize is a $100 Visa gift card.
Chili eaters just show up at 6pm at the elementary cafeteria on Nov. 16.
Cost is $3 (or more because this is a fund-raiser!).

A fun and delicious dinner for the family for $3 each (or more), and no cooking on a school night. That’s another win!

Who gets to decide who has the best chili? The PTC says the judges’ identities are top secret! They don’t want the celebrity panel to intimidate the chili makers!

This good-natured evening featuring some deliciousness is just one event for the busy PTC. Money raised will fund other events including the upcoming Daddy-Daughter Dance and the Mommy-Son Day. A Christmas Store will be held next month for students to purchase gifts for family members or teachers.

RSVP or ask questions on the event’s Facebook page here.
