The Ruf-Nex thought they could “tame the lions,” but the Luther Lions welcomed them to the jungle. Luther took their first district win over the Crooked Oak Ruf-Nex 48-0, which gained Luther 15 district points for the year. Luther is now 4-1 in the season, and 1-0 in district play.
The tempo was set at kickoff with just six seconds off the score board as #24 Dakota Pridemore ran the kickoff return for a touchdown, and made the score 6-0 with 11:54 remaining in the first quarter! #EAT
Huge night on the defensive side of the football. Interceptions and fumble recoveries by Luther’s defensive players allowed for more time on offense, which was a key point to the game. Key interceptions from #6 Tyler Becker and #42 Bryce Pearson, and big fumble recoveries from #6 Tyler Becker, #35 Devin Bean, and #60 Jackson Brown. “BIG PLAY!”
On offense, a variety of numbers found themselves using pencil lead on paper as they were building stats in the books. We saw #1 Cole Stastny, #6 Tyler Becker, # 11 Jace Wilson, #12 Chad Pridemore, #24 Dakota Pridemore, #35 Devin Bean, and #84 Jordan Downs in the end zone with points on the board to earn the district win tonight.
Penalties seemed to be kept minimal tonight, which made it a pretty fast paced ball game. The Lions beat the Ruf-Nex. Next week, Luther rests in a bye week, and there are now 13 days on the countdown to prepare for the Stroud Tigers on October 7. Let’s travel to Stroud, Oklahoma, together to cheer the Luther Lions on to another victory and bring them to 2-0 in district play on October 7 at 7pm. #mytown
