The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is leading a search for a missing Jones boy.
From the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page:
Jay Cross was last seen Saturday around 4pm near his home in the area of Britton and Peebly Roads. Jay is 17 years old has autism. Deputies, members of the Reserve Mounted Patrol Division and OCPD AirOne are currently searching the area. Please check your property, barns, ravines, abandoned cars, if you live in the area. If you see Jay please call 911 immediately.
Following the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s FB page for the latest information as they are updating that regularly.
UPDATE – Jay is know to walk to Luther on occasion. Several storms overnight made the search difficult. He may have hunkered down at that time but may now be walking and near a road. In the time he’s been missing he could have gotten a pretty far distance away from his home area near Britton and Peebly.
Oklahoma County Sheriff’s OfficeWe have the mounted patrol, AirOne and many deputies and reserves currently searching near where he was last seen and expanding outwards. As the search gets wider and wider a call out may be needed. If anyone lives near that area we are asking to go ahead and search on or near your property.

The post has garnered more than 3,400 shares with hundreds of comments of concern and offers to help. One concern is Jay might have become disoriented during the thunderstorm Saturday evening.
No update on finding Jay as of about 1pm on Sunday. Check here and of course, monitor Oklahoma County Sheriff’s social media outlets for information.
Thank you.
