The Luther Middle School Lions welcomed the Harrah Panthers to Wilson Field tonight for a small scrimmage before their season opener next Monday at Bethel. The middle school team experienced what it is like to be at a high school camp. Harrah’s middle school was split between 7th and 8thgraders, and Luther scrimmaged both age groups, round-robin style. There was no score kept, but it was tough competition on both sides of the ball with both ages. The coaches and players alike got a taste of football and the season ahead of them.
There were even a few high school players who stayed around after their practice to watch, coach, and cheer on the boys.
The LHS varsity football team invites Bethel to Wilson Field on Friday, August 26th at 7pm to open the 2016 season. The inaugural “Hall of Fame” night will be held Friday, as well. “Hall of Fame” night will be centered on recognizing the 1996 football team at half time. There will be t-shirts for the “Hall of Fame” game to purchase at the Touchdown Club table, as well as information of the Route 66 Showdown on September 2nd at Wellston.
Come support the LHS Varsity as they kick off the 2016 season at home this Friday, and the LMS Lions at Bethel on Monday!
Cross Country will be traveling to Guthrie on Saturday.
LMS Softball is scheduled for the Stroud Tournament August 26th and 27th.
