Four candidates, two newcomers and two former trustees, have filed to run for two spots on the Luther Town Board.
The candidates are:
Brian Hall, 32
Carolyn Lawson, 76
Andy McDaniels, 48
Jeffrey J Schwarzmeier, 59
No candidates filed on Monday, the first day of filing. Schwarzmeier and Hall filed on Tuesday, and McDaniels and Lawson filed on Wednesday. The top two vote-getters on April 2, 2019, will win the seats to serve on the five-member Luther Board of Trustees.
The seats are currently held by Jason Roach and Lea Ann Jackson who did not seek re-election.
Both McDaniels and Lawson, most recently, served on the board as appointees to fill unexpired terms when they unsuccessfully ran in 2017 for election. Dr. Schwarzmeier is a chiropractor and Hall is the owner of Thermal Kat Heating & Air Conditioning in Luther.
Several other interesting races shaped up during the filing period in Eastern Oklahoma County communities including Harrah, Jones, Choctaw, Spencer and Forest Park.
On election day, April 2, registered voters within Luther’s Town limits will choose the trustees, while registered voters in the Luther School District will choose between school board candidates Sherri Anderson, incumbent, and Justin Wood.
