Huge Turnout for Luther Trunk or Treat

A beautiful fall Saturday evening drew out costumed kids from all around for Luther’s Trunk or Treat Event that featured a “real” unicorn with sparkly hooves and plenty of candy for all. An estimated 800 children visited the car trunks, storefronts and tables of businesses who set up for the event and passed out candy for a solid two hours. The line of masked Superheroes, clowns and animals visited several businesses on Ash including the Insurance Agency, Fire Department, Community Center and DJ’s BBQ, as well as the action on Main Street.

The event was organized by the volunteer Luther Parks Commission who collected funds from businesses for the event that also included a movie at Veterans Park, shown by Josh Smith and Opus Entertainment.

The Parks Commission thanked the following businesses for supporting the event.
Sonic, Josephine’s Cafe, Boydston Bailey Funeral Home, BancFirst, Beth’s Baubles and Bits, Urban 66, Alan Booher, Luther Insurance Agency, Church of Christ Service Center, Brew 66, Chicken Shack, DJ’S Barbeque, Broken Horn Ranch, Luther Mill, Rustic Farm, Jarvis Liquor Well, Apple Creek, S&H Mercantile, 116 Farmstead Market & Table and Our Town Eatery.”

Both “Our Town Eatery” and “Brew 66” are new businesses coming to Luther. Our Town, is a restaurant, on Ash at SW Second Street, and Brew 66 is a coffee shop that will be on Dogwood on the curve. Both establishments plan to open soon.
