The Luther Town Board met in executive session at its August 14 meeting to consider the employment of Officer Anthony Butler who was arrested last week on domestic violence and other complaints.
The closed-door session lasted only minutes. Back in open session, the four members present voted unanimously to terminate Butler’s employment. Board member Trandy Langston was absent for the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma County District Attorney filed felony charges against Butler on August 10 including domestic abuse by strangulation and assault and battery on a police officer.
The board also agreed to allow the police department to hire another full-time officer.
